In the winter, your water pipes can freeze if they aren’t sufficiently insulated. When the water expands inside the pipe, the pipes might actually explode! This is both dangerous and often very expensive to repair. Make sure you have sufficient insulation around your water pipes to prevent freezing, and keep all the seals around your pipes tight against the cold outdoors.
